Signal Processing

Objective:

  • ‘Signals and Systems’ course deals with how a signal is analyzed in time domain, frequency domain and how it is processed through a system.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to

Model any complex signal with standard signals.

Classify signals based on its continuity, periodicity, energy, power, etc.,

Do Fourier analysis, Laplace analysis and Z-transform.

Analyze a system.

Sample and digitize a signal.

Topics Covered

Random processes: Auto correlation and power spectral density, properties of white noise, filtering of random signals through LTI systems.

Analog communications: amplitude modulation and demodulation, angle modulation and demodulation, spectra of AM and FM, super heterodyne receivers.
